Hello everyone, I am planning to visit Taiwan this September. I want to buy guzheng stool (a chinese-style chair where the guzheng player sit on). Can anybody recommend me good stores in Taiwan that sell guzheng stool? I don't plan on buying online because I want to personally see and select the stool for myself. Any help will be appreciated Smile

Here is the picture of the Guzheng stool.

Hello Disn! Are you still looking for advice? I can ask my teacher, who is from Taiwan and just went back for vacation. Where in Taiwan would you be? That might help narrow suggestions.

I've emailed my teacher, I'll see if she has anything to recommend. Be careful: if you buy something made of wood you may get some extra questions crossing international borders with it. In January of 2017 pretty much every rosewood variety was added to the list of protected or endangered species. Rosewoods are frequently used in furniture and musical instruments, guzhengs included.
If the country you are entering has agreed to the CITES convention (https://cites.org/eng/disc/what.php) then they allow for personal importing of objects that contain less than 10 kilograms of most varieties of rosewood. Border agents might ask you extra questions to make sure you are bringing it in to the country for your own use and not to sell.

Hello Dsin, unfortunately it was a bust. My teacher looked up the music stores that she is familiar with and none of them sell stools. Sorry!
