Oh wow, that's beautiful. I really wish I did have the cash for that.

Hi Vi An,

your Dan Tranh is really a breathtaking beauty! I started taking Dan Tranh lessons a few months ago and the instrument I currently have is a 17 string beginners instrument that I got from my teacher for comparatively small money. Alas, while it sounds goodit does not look that nice anymore - the lacquer coating has become beamless and the mother of pearl inlay is broken in some places and a few pieces have even fallen out. Would anybody have an idea how I could fix this?

So I keep dreaming of getting a better instrument one day - either by travelling to Vietnam and buying it direktly from one of the well known makers or maybe from Carol.

Where and how did you get yours?

Warm greetings,

Georg

This instrument is a custom made instrument. You can take your instrument to a recommended guitar maker / restorer as a start, someone very familiar with lacquer and inlay as well would help. Message me privately for further inquire thanks.
