Hi everyone,

Ever since I changed the 4th string (high 3, 'mi'), I can't seem to bend it enough to produce the high 5 sound (high 'so') anymore. I tried tightening the string some, but it only helps a little bit and still not close to high 5. I also tried bending closer to the bridge which also helped but I have broken strings like that in the past by bending too deeply too close to the bridge, so I am afraid to do that now.

Any suggestions? It's driving me nuts that I can't bend it to be a high 5 anymore because parts of the song I'm play just doesn't sound right when I can't bend it to a full high 5 (always ends up extremely flat).

Thanks, everyone.

Hi Carey:

If you are bending all the way to soundboard and still can't reach 5, then the string is too loose. If it's too tight that you can't bend further, then the string is too tight.
