|Well, I received my Tianyi Black Sandalwood guzheng from Carol on Monday Jan 31st. It's a thing of beauty!
I'm going to keep a diary of my progress. I always think it's a good idea to record your thoughts when embarking on a new pursuit.
I had no trouble tuning the instrument but, then, I've tuned guitars for over 40 years - and a violin, too.
I made a blunder when setting up the instrument in that I didn't notice that the bridges were numbered!
I have used finger picks on my guitar - and the odd banjo, but I never had to attach them with surgical tape. Felt messy, initially, but I'm sure I'll get used to them quickly.
I'm using the Be Be He tutor and there seems so much to take in but
I'm definitely going to follow the advice in the book and do the exercises very slowly.
At the moment, just picking out the correct notes in the correct octave seems like a real challenge.
Anyway, it's all very exciting!
